Illinois State Director - Karyn Quick

Soror Karyn Quick is the first elected state director for Illinois. She has held various elected and appointed positions in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, including regional secretary, chapter president and chair of Sisterhood Connections. She has served in two regions, the Mighty Southern Region and now in the Greater Great Lakes Region. Soror Quick became a Zeta 28 years ago at her alma mater, Jackson State University, in Jackson, Mississippi. She is currently a member of Sigma Phi Zeta Chapter in Waukegan, Illinois.
Outside Zeta, Soror Quick serves on the board for Chocolate Chips, a S.T.E.A.M program for young minority girls, as the IT Director. Professionally, she has worked in IT for 20-plus years. She is director of IT quality and compliance for AbbVie Pharmaceuticals. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Jackson State University, and a master’s degree in business from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Indiana State Director - Londra Dufor

Soror Londra Dufor is the first elected state director for the state of Indiana. She is from Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from the city’s Wayne High School. She has held many positions in her chapter, Iota Zeta, in Indianapolis, Indiana, from president to chairwoman of various committees. Soror Dufor became a member of Zeta in her senior year at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, through Delta Epsilon Chapter. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and African American Studies.
Later, Soror Dufor worked in sales for over 20 years, then made an industry change and has been a supervisor for a social services company doing social work for the last five years. She is a worship leader for multiple ministries and loves the Lord. Soror Dufor says she is excited for the opportunity to lead the Indiana State Organization and to assist Zeta Phi Beta International President & CEO Dr. Stacie NC Grant’s plans for our great sisterhood.
Kentucky State Director - Tonya Muhammad

Soror Tonya Muhammad was initiated into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated at the University of Illinois, Nu Delta Chapter, in Spring 1989. She became Kentucky State Director in September of 2018, and has made a positive impact in that role. Soror Muhammad is active in Kappa Lambda Zeta Chapter in Lexington, Kentucky, where she has been president, first vice president, second vice president and parliamentarian. She has also served as chair of many committees and as the Kentucky State Representative to the Great Lakes Region.
She is a Zeta Organizational Leadership Program (ZOL) certified, Platinum Life Member, as well. Professionally, Soror Muhammad has worked for Delta Air Lines, at the Blue Grass Airport, for 15 years. She has been married to Abdul Muhammad for 30 years, who is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and has two children, Kendall Muhammad and Soror Kierra Muhammad. Soror Tonya Muhammad says she is committed to live and lead by Zeta’s principles as she continues to energize and grow Kentucky.
Michigan State Director - Lynese Thomas

Soror Lynese Thomas reached 25 years of active financial membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in 2022. She was initiated on Sept. 13, 1997. A graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in English, she earned a master’s of business administration in 2004. Professionally, Soror Thomas has worked in the health insurance industry for the past 22 years, currently as a senior management engineer. She and her husband, Bro. Melvin Thomas Jr., of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, have two beautiful children, Melvin III and Melanie. Soror Thomas was initially an appointed state director in July 2020. On Sept. 24, 2022, she became the first Zeta to be elected state director in the Great Lakes Region.
At the time of her appointment, Soror Thomas was Great Lakes Region Nominations Chair, elected in 2019. She was Michigan’s Basileus of the Year in 2017, and Zeta of the Year in 2013 for her chapter, Zeta Nu Zeta, in Inkster, Michigan. She served as president of her chapter (2014 to 2018), first vice president (2011-2014), corresponding secretary (2008-2010) and secretary (2003-2007). Her state roles include Nominations and Elections Chair (2015-2017) and corresponding secretary (2009-2011). Soror Thomas is a 2018 graduate of the Zeta Organizational Leadership Program, Cohort 7. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling and reading, and is active in her church’s nurse’s ministry.
Minnesota State Director - Keisha Mitchell

Soror Keisha Mitchell was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. After graduating from Calumet High School, where she was on the track and field, basketball and volleyball teams, she attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. There, she became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in Spring 1998 through Epsilon Kappa Chapter, and received her Bachelor of Science from Purdue’s School of Technology. She currently holds membership in Iota Zeta Zeta Chapter in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Soror Mitchell has served faithfully on the local, state and regional levels. She has the honor of being Minnesota’s first elected state director.
Most recently, she served as Great Lakes Regional scholarship chair and co-chair, board chair of the Minnesota State Organization, and, at the chapter level, as president, first vice president and treasurer. Professionally, she has served in a leadership role for Ameriprise (Fortune 500 company) and is now the program manager of the African American Babies Coalition and Projects at the Wilder Foundation. During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, and her family, listening to music, reading and traveling.
Ohio State Director - Isimeme Green

Soror Isi Green is the 13th state director for Ohio and the first to be elected to the position in her state. She joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated on March 14, 1997, through the eXquisite Xi Gamma Chapter at The Ohio State University. Later, she helped charter Sigma Iota Zeta Chapter in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, in June of 2001, where she is still a member. In 2022, Soror Green celebrated 25 years of uninterrupted financial membership and service in the sorority. She is Zeta Organizational Leadership Program (ZOL) certified and is a ZOL Train the Trainer. She has held most offices on the local level. She has volunteered on and chaired many committees on the local, state and regional level.
Professionally, Soror Green is president of the Physicians CareConnection, an affiliate of the Columbus Medical Association, leading the effort to coordinate health care services and resources for vulnerable people in Central Ohio. She believes her God-given purpose is helping others; in fact, her favorite saying is “Leadership is an opportunity to serve.” Soror Green holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and master’s in public health from Ohio State. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to Sam and Priscilla Ikharebha. She and her husband, Alaric Green, have two children.
Wisconsin State Director - Toya Griffin

Soror Toya Griffin is the first elected state director in Wisconsin. For the past 27 years, she has served Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated with zeal in elected and appointed leadership positions. She has been board chair of the Wisconsin State Organization, and president, first vice president and financial secretary for her chapter, Kappa Beta Zeta, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has also served as Stork’s Nest Director for the state of Wisconsin and the Stork’s Nest Chair for her chapter. She has raised over $30,000 for Stork’s Nest, plus opened an additional Stork’s Nest, reactivated a chapter and started a sunshine committee.
Professionally, Soror Griffin serves as the senior director of academics for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and oversees all of the health and wellness programs for over 50 sites. She holds a license in elementary and middle school education, as well as K-12 health licenses. She also has a master’s degree in education with an emphasis on professional development, and a certificate in school management and leadership from Harvard University.
